We have great news – we have been booked to play Vans Warped Tour 2015, July 17th in Toronto at the Lemmon Stage! We hope you will all come support, and we are excited to play as a full band. Tomorrow will will announce our official band team roster so you can get as excited as we are!

Everyone we are so happy to announce that our pledgemusic campaign reached over 100% today! We couldn’t have done it without you – and if you didn’t get a chance to pre-order, you still have 60 days to buy whatever you want off our campaign!

There is still a lot of cool stuff up there, so go check it out!

Also, we wanted to announce a bunch of Toronto shows – we thought since NXNE and Pride were happening, that we would play a bunch of shows in June, so stop by at one to sing along (or come to all of them).

Here are the dates – check the show section on our website for more details.

Come celebrate with us the Thursday of Pride at Cherry Cola’s! It will be a blast… and there may, or may not be unicorns.

We have two excellent shows coming up June 5th and 7th! The first is in Oshawa, and we are playing a free gig alongside some of our fav musicians – Elissa Barclay and Francis Farmer. Our second gig is June 7th and we are stoked on announcing a great headliner – Black Cat Attack! If you haven’t checked them out yet, do so. They are great! You can grab tickets for that show at our pledgemusic along with all our other great stuff !

Hey all!

We are heading into the studio Tuesday April 21st for 5 days to record our debut E.P Fine Lines! You can pre-order it (as well as buy some other cool stuff!) here.

But what we wanted to talk to you about was what we will be doing throughout the studio! We are the first band to do this, and we are extremely excited.

We will be live-streaming our entire studio week on Periscope, a new app by Twitter! Download the app, and find our stream using our handle @kinktheband to find us starting Tuesday afternoon so you can watch us make our entire album!

If you want more behind the scenes action on Fine Lines, buy something on our pledgemusic and we will send you unreleased MP3s, behind the scenes videos AND a digital download of Fine Lines when it is done!

Stoked to get into the studio, and stoked for you to be there with us.

New initiative in partnership with Steve’s Music and Schecter Guitars aims to provide under privileged youth with access to guitars.

Guitars for Girls, a new initiative by KINK, a female acoustic rock duo from Toronto, in partnership with Steve’s Music and Schecter Guitars, has donated four new acoustic guitars to four girls at Dixon Hall, a Toronto charity that provides music education to underprivileged youth.

Comprised of Dani Gagnon and Erica Schiopu, KINK hopes to expand the Guitars for Girls initiative by encouraging donations from the public through the band’s PledgeMusic campaign. The website provides the opportunity to buy a guitar from Steve’s Music or guitar lessons from Tara McLeod of Kittie for those at Dixon Hall. The initiative will also take gently used instruments, which can be arranged directly with the band at info@kinktheband.com, which will then be given directly to a girl at Dixon Hall.

“We started Guitars for Girls because we wanted to see more females picking up guitars and provide those that may not be able to access instruments with the tools they need,” said KINK’s Dani Gagnon. “We believe music provides freedom of expression and want to inspire girls to feel as though they can be truly be themselves and channel their originality through music.”

KINK created a video for Guitars for Girls, which features other female rock musicians offering their support for the organization, including the all-female Canadian band Kittie and Lindsay Schoolcraft from metal band Cradle of Filth speaking about their experience being women in the rock music industry.

Gagnon and Schiopu created KINK in May 2014 and have since won the Jack Daniels Supporting Act contest, receiving a grand prize of $7,000 from Jack Daniels to go towards recording their first E.P. The band will be heading into the studio to record on April 21st with musician and producer Jason Pierce (Our Lady Peace, Paramore, Justin Bieber) at Toronto’s Coalition Music. Titled Fine Lines, the E.P will be available mid-August and KINK will be live streaming their entire studio experience on Twitter’s new app, Periscope.

Through PledgeMusic, KINK will be accepting pre-orders and donations to support their E.P, and a portion of all funds raised will be donated back to their Guitars for Girls initiative.

We’d like to announce a new partnership! We will be working with Lake of Bays beer this year – since we absolutely love their beer, we are so happy to have this opportunity!
